First of all, diving is the main reason to come to Gili - or at least the sublime beaches, if you prefer to enjoy life as a landlubber. The coral reefs contain unprecedented biodiversity, the water is crystal clear, the fish are in all colours and in large schools and many of the other exciting, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the sea flock here in large numbers, such as the giant manta rays and the hawksbill turtles.
