Week 1: Kickstart your adventure with Victoria Falls & elephants
Enjoy your first day in Victoria Falls and seize the opportunity to go on some cool optional activities, such as wild water rafting, a helicopter ride over Victoria Falls, jump in Devil's Pool or canoe over the Zambezi River. Or explore the town of Victoria Falls with local markets and shops. There's plenty of opportunities and you can even, if you feel brave enough, throw yourself out from a bridge, by bungee jumping of course! After Victoria Falls, you will enter the Kingdom of Botswana. First stop is Kasane which is a logic starting point if you opt in for a game drive through Chobe National Park. A place famous for it's huge concentration of the African Elephant. This is a great place to spot wildlife and if you're lucky, you might end up spotting all Big Fives! We can only recommend that you go for this!

Frequently asked questions
Planning a trip to Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia? Find answers to the most common questions from our travel experts.
May to October is widely considered the best time for wildlife viewing across all three countries. Vegetation is sparse, and animals congregate around waterholes and rivers, making them much easier to spot. If seeing Victoria Falls in full, roaring flood is your priority, visit between April and June. For the famous "Devil's Pool" swim and lower water views, go between August and January.
Zimbabwe:Â US Dollars (USD) in cash are heavily relied upon and preferred for everyday expenses, tipping, and local markets. Major lodges accept credit cards, but cash is king.
Botswana & Namibia:Â Each uses its own currency (Botswana Pula and Namibian Dollar, respectively), though the South African Rand is also widely accepted in Namibia.
KILROY tip:Â Always carry a mix of a major international credit card (Visa or Mastercard) and cash.
Neutral clothes: Pack neutral-colored, lightweight clothing (khaki, beige, olive) for game drives. Avoid bright colors or dark blue/black, which can attract insects like tsetse flies.
Wear layers: Mornings and evenings on safari, especially in the desert or during winter (May to September) get surprisingly cold. So bring a warm fleece, jacket, beanie and scarf.
Essentials:Â High-SPF sunscreen, wide-brimmed hat, polarized sunglasses, a powerful insect repellent (DEET-based), a universal adapter plug, and a good pair of binoculars.
