Day 1-3: Bangkok: Start this epic journey the right way

You’ll start your journey by flying to Bangkok. If you want, you can opt to spend a few nights on your own, taking in the sights and experiencing this bustling city firsthand.

A HOT tip is to take the river boat express. “Bangkokians” use the river boats for commuting, but you should use them for exploring. By doing the conventional "taxi ride", you’ll be sitting relatively low and only get to see what’s right in front of you. On the express boat, you’re out in the open with the wind in your hair and the city rising up around you, while getting a glimpse of how people live by and with the river.

The express river boat is fast but also really relaxed, giving you the chance to become part of everyday life. It’s also super cheap. Try to get a seat at the back of the boat in the open-air section.

You’ll meet up with the rest of your crew in Bangkok before travelling through Cambodia and on to Ho Chi Minh City.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Absolutely. In fact, this trip is ideal for solo travellers, since a big part of the journey is made up of various group trips where you’ll meet other curious travellers to share your experiences with. In between (and during) the group trips, you’ll still have plenty of time to explore on your own and enjoy the sense of ultimate freedom.

The price of this trip is based on two people travelling together, but get in touch with one of our travel experts, and they’ll help tailor your trip and let you know the exact price of your adventure.

Yes. The itinerary is here to inspire, but your trip will be tailor-made to suit your schedule, budget, interests and preferred travel style. Get in touch with one of our travel experts, who will help you design the adventure of your dreams.

Of course. We suggest spending two months on this journey, but we can easily extend the trip if you wish. Maybe you want to spend more time in one destination, or perhaps you’d like to add other destinations to the itinerary. Just let us know what you’re dreaming of, and we’ll make it happen.

It's generally a fun and hassle-free way to travel. People who join group trips are usually curious, open-minded and just as excited about the adventure as you are so you'll most likely hit it off.

Joining a group trip is an easy way to meet new people, and some of them might even end up becoming lifelong friends. However, you’re not expected to be social all the time – you’ll, of course, still have plenty of opportunities to take some time for yourself during the trip.

One of the great things about travelling with a group is that there’s always someone to hang out with. Go out for the night, explore a market together, grab some street food or head off on a day trip.

When you’re travelling with others, you don’t have to make all the plans yourself. Sometimes, you can simply tag along with someone else’s plans, which can be a nice change of pace, especially when you’re travelling for a longer period of time.
