Victoria Falls is a must-see natural wonder on the Zambezi River, forming the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. As the world's largest waterfalls, they offer unique views and rich wildlife, including hippos and crocodiles further north. But Zimbabwe is so much more than this! It boasts eight major national parks. While Victoria Falls National Park is highly popular, the nearby Hwange National Park is the largest. Hwange is home to 105 mammal species, massive elephant populations, and crucial groups of rare animals like the gemsbok, brown hyena, and African wild dog.

The people of Zimbabwe are generally very positive and friendly. During your travels through this country, you will likely encounter more smiling faces than you ever have before. However, the long-standing conflict in the country has left its scars; as a result, people may desperately try to sell you their crafts. Zimbabwean wood carving is world-famous. No matter where you are in Africa, you will nowhere find finer craftsmanship than here in Zimbabwe. Interestingly, they will gladly trade a giant wooden rhino or another animal for your flip-flops, meaning you don't necessarily need cash to acquire these art pieces. These people have been through difficult times, so do not haggle too much. Don't worry if they ask five or six euros for an item you really want, because to them, this truly means everything. Please note: ebony and ivory are often used, and you should naturally avoid purchasing these products!

Zimbabwe has in total 16 official languages! Shona and Ndebele are the most widely spoken, while English serves as the primary language for the government, business and education.
Although Zimbabwe is located in the tropics and should be warm year-round, its temperature is somewhat moderated by the country's high altitude and inland position. The hot, dry season lasts from August to October, while the rainy season runs from November to March. The best time to visit the country is during the months of April, May, August, and September. At night, temperatures can drop below freezing. If you are planning a tour, you can easily combine Zimbabwe with neighboring countries like Botswana and South Africa.
First of all you need a passport valid for at least 6 months. When you arrive in Zimbabwe, you'll need to pay a Visa on arrival, which is valid for 90 days. Your travel specialist will make sure to inform you about all the documents you need.
While the cost of living is generally cheaper, Zimbabwe is often viewed as a mid-to-high range destination for touristic activities. For instance, you need to pay for national parc entries and there's also the cost of tourist-centric infrastructure.
