Along the way, you'll go from big-city vibes to laid-back beach life, with sand between your toes, cocktails by the sea, waves rolling onto the shore and plenty of delicious tacos. Mexico really does have it all.
From Playa del Carmen, you'll make your own way to Cancún, where you'll catch a flight to San José in Costa Rica. Here, you'll meet your next group of travel buddies for an 11-day adventure across the country, exploring volcanoes, waterfalls and lush jungle scenery. Group trips are a great opportunity to meet curious adventurers from different backgrounds. Some might become lifelong friends, some might change your perspective or teach you something new, and others might simply be people you share some unforgettable moments with along the way without necessarily forming a deeper bond. Everything's possible.
When you travel as part of a group, it's easy to get to know each other, but there's no pressure to spend every waking moment together or be social all the time. You do you and join in as much as you like.
Most travellers have a safe trip to Mexico, but it's always a good idea to take sensible precautions. When you're travelling as part of a group, you can look out for each other, whether that's keeping an eye on your belongings, watching each other's drinks or going home in a group so no one has to walk alone, especially at night.
If you're unsure about how to stay safe during the part of your trip when you're travelling independently in Mexico, ask your travel expert for advice.
