THE FULL CENTRAL AMERICAN JOURNEY

After landing in Cancun, we'll take you to Playa del Carmen to meet your fellow travellers for a day of sunshine and cocktails. There are plenty of bars and clubs, which are of course the perfect setting to make memories with new friends. Your first days here will be all about relaxation and enjoying yourself, although you can opt to see the Maya ruins at Tulum, or take a ferry to the nearby Cozumel.

In Belize the chill vibe continues, with a few days to spend at Caye Caulker, a small but laidback Caribbean island in front of the Belizean coast. Here you'll find the usual swaying palm trees, sandy beaches and blue skies. Snorkel with stingrays and nurse sharks, or just take it chill for a bit, up to you!

From Caye Caulker, you'll travel by bus and boat to San Ignacio. Enjoy an included pottery demonstration and lunch at a women's pottery cooperative supported by one of our suppliers. 

In San Ignacio you'll have a couple of days to enjoy Belize's little known inland. Explore by foot, canoe or horse, go on a caving trip or visit the Mountain Pine Ridge Area and swim in its inviting pools and rivers. 

Today, you'll move on to Guatemala where the adventure continues. On your way to the city of Flores, you'll visit the ruins of Tikal where you'll go on a guided tour and learn about Mayan culture and history.

In Guatemala you'll learn all about the cultural influences of the Mayans, which are visible even to this day. Ancient cities, temple ruins and the dense jungle surrounding them. Once you make it to Rio Dulce, which is somehow both a town, a lake and a river, you'll have some free time to make your own plans. Bathe under a naturally hot waterfall or try kayaking during sunrise to spot the howler monkeys. Can't miss 'em - they're considered the loudest animal on the planet! Last stop in Guatemala is the city of Antigua and its surroundings, the Guatemalan Highlands. Explore the city's great bars and restaurants, climb volcanoes or try your hand at windsurfing at lake Atitlan.
