Day Dag 1-3: Kickstart your adventure in Buenos Aires
Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina is known for its gorgeous colonial architecture. Walking the streets and squares here feels like a journey back in time. But there's more culture to enjoy. The colourful La Boca neighborhood is a joy to see, and so is San Telmo with it's cobblestone streets and food market. Another thing Buenos Aires is famous for, is the abundance of street art throughout the different boroughs. It only adds to the charm and colours of the city, and you can do a street art walking tour if you want to. At the end of the day, plop down at one of the bars at Plaza Serrano for some well-deserved drinks. Oh, and may we suggest trying one of the many Argentinian barbecue places?

The ideal time is between October and December (Late Spring to Early Summer in the Southern Hemisphere).
Southern right whales are present from June through December (peaking September–November), while Magellanic penguins arrive in September and remain through March.
The optimal trekking window runs from November through March when days are long (up to 17 hours of daylight in Ushuaia) and weather conditions are mildest.
Combining the two in October or November captures peak whale season in Puerto Madryn alongside comfortable, less crowded hiking in southern Patagonia.
Patagonia is infamous for experiencing four seasons in a single day. Rain, bright sunshine, freezing hail, and 50+ mph winds can occur within hours.
Make sure to dress in layers (thermal base layer, fleece middle layer, waterproof/windproof outer shell). Sturdy, broken-in waterproof hiking boots, UV sunglasses, and a warm beanie are non-negotiable.
Patagonia is considered one of the safest travel regions in South America. The small mountain towns have very low crime rates, clear trail markings, and strong traveler networks. Standard safety precautions apply mainly in transit hubs and large cities like Buenos Aires.
Buenos Aires is home to one of the most obsessive, world-class speakeasy (puertas cerradas) bar scenes and half the top cocktail lounges are disguised behind everyday objects. Instead of traditional storefronts, many of the city's best nightlife spots require you to know a secret code, password, or entry trick!
