TREKKING IN PERU & COLOMBIA

Trek through Peru and Colombia: An epic South American adventure
South America is home to some of the world's most iconic trekking routes, and this adventure combines two of the very best.
Your journey begins in Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. With its mix of ancient history, colourful markets, and vibrant local culture, it's the perfect place to ease into your adventure and acclimatise to the altitude before hitting the trail.
Next comes the legendary Inca Trail. Over several unforgettable days, you'll trek through the Andes, pass ancient ruins, and hike through cloud forests before reaching the highlight of it all: Machu Picchu. Seeing the Lost City of the Incas emerge from the morning mist is a moment you'll never forget.
After the trek, continue to Lima, Peru's lively capital. Explore the historic centre, browse local markets, and soak up the buzzing atmosphere in the creative neighbourhood of Barranco before making your way to Colombia.
Your next stop is Cartagena, a colourful Caribbean city where cobbled streets, colonial architecture, and tropical vibes set the scene for the next stage of your adventure. Here, you'll meet a new group of travel mates before heading towards Colombia's northern coast and one of the country's most rewarding challenges: the Lost City Trek.
Hidden deep within the jungle and surrounded by lush mountains, the Lost City remains one of South America's best-kept secrets. Trek through remote landscapes, pass indigenous communities, and uncover the fascinating history of this ancient archaeological site. It's a challenging adventure, but the reward is more than worth it.
After the trek, enjoy some well-earned downtime in Santa Marta before flying to Medellín.
Once infamous for its turbulent past, Medellín has transformed into one of South America's most exciting cities. Ride the city's famous cable cars, discover vibrant neighbourhoods, sample incredible Colombian food, and learn more about its remarkable history. With its pleasant climate and welcoming atmosphere, it's the perfect place to reflect on everything you've experienced before heading home.
From ancient Inca ruins and mountain trails to Caribbean coastlines and jungle adventures, this is South America at its most unforgettable.

Yes. Most travelers join solo, making it easy to meet like-minded people while sharing the experience of two of South America's most iconic treks.
No previous trekking experience is required. However, both treks can be physically demanding, so it's important to be prepared for multiple days of hiking in varying terrain and weather conditions.
A good level of fitness is recommended. Both the Inca Trail and the Lost City Trek involve several days of hiking, steep ascents and descents, and long trekking days.
