Road Trip USA: Full Mounty - San Francisco to L.A.

Welcome to San Francisco! We've included 3 nights in a cool hostel by the bay, giving you plenty of time to explore this colorful and character-filled city. Wander through Chinatown, soak up the hippie vibes, and don't miss a visit to Alcatraz. Just remember to book your tickets early, they sell out fast!

Next up is the incredible Yosemite National Park, home to towering waterfalls, giant granite cliffs, and some seriously epic views. Visit Yosemite Valley, take in the scenery at Mirror Lake, and get your camera ready for some unforgettable shots.

Continue to Mammoth Lakes, a mountain town surrounded by forests, lakes, and endless outdoor adventures. Hit the hiking trails, visit Devil's Postpile and Rainbow Falls, or relax in the nearby hot springs before the next leg of your road trip. 

Can't get enough of nature? We get it! Next up is Death Valley, a land of dramatic landscapes and extreme temperatures, so make sure to stock up on water before heading out. You can drive straight through on your way to Las Vegas, or stay a night or two to explore more of this unique national park.

After days surrounded by nature, it's time for the bright lights of Las Vegas. Wander along The Strip, check out the iconic hotels, enjoy a great meal, catch a show, or simply soak up the city's one-of-a-kind atmosphere. On your way out, make a stop at Hoover Dam or join a day tour from the city.

Next is the legendary Grand Canyon, one of the world's most spectacular natural wonders and a must-see on any Southwest Road trip.

Continue to Page, Arizona, home to some of the region's most stunning sights. Explore the magical curves of Antelope Canyon, admire the views at Horseshoe Bend, or get out on the water at Lake Powell.

If you're not ready to leave California behind just yet, head down to San Diego. With epic Mexican food, gorgeous beaches, great surf, and a relaxed atmosphere, it's the perfect final stop before saying goodbye to the Golden State and continuing your adventure. 

Head back towards Las Vegas, with a stop in the otherworldly Joshua Tree National Park. Explore its unique desert landscapes, giant rock formations, and iconic Joshua trees before continuing your adventure.

Next up is Palm Springs, a sunny desert getaway known for its relaxed vibe, hot springs, great restaurants, and charming downtown. Whether you're after more outdoor adventures or just want to take it easy, it's the perfect place to recharge.

Your California adventure wraps up in Los Angeles, where we've included 3 nights in one of our favorite hostels. Explore iconic neighborhoods like Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Santa Monica, and Venice Beach, and don't miss the views from Griffith Observatory. After a few days soaking up the LA lifestyle, it's time to fly back home.
