Pick destinations that suit couples, not crowds
Some places are great destinations, but they’re busy, noisy, and set up for families or big tour groups. As a couple, that can get old fast.
Destinations with a strong focus on nature, long distances, or travel by car tend to work better. You move around more, spend less time in crowded hotspots, and end your days somewhere calm. It’s less about seeing everything and more about actually enjoying where you are, together.
Step outside your comfort zone.

Safari, trekking and tropical aventures
Our advice? Don't get too caught up in ticking off destinations. The trips you remember most are usually the ones here you experinces omething new, and somtimes unexpected. That might be spotting wildlife at sunrise, learning to dive, tackling a hike together or trying something completely outside your comfort zone. Those are the stories that tend to stick with you, because they're shared and because they feel different from everyday life!
Trek to Machu Picchu in Peru.
See the Big 5 in South Africa.
Ever triend canyoneering?
Go chasing waterfalls.
Beaches in Asia.
How do you want to travel?
Raodtrips, safari, island hoppiging or perhaps a combo of travel styles?
For LGBTQ couples: travel openly, but travel aware
Many destinations are safe and welcoming for LGBTQ travelers, while others are more conservative. In some places, you may need to be more discreet, adjust how openly you show affection, or rethink expectations around hotels and public spaces.
That doesn’t mean these destinations are off-limits. In fact, some of them offer incredible nature, unique stays, and genuinely special experiences for couples as long as you travel with a bit of awareness. Being flexible about how you travel often opens up far more options than ruling places out completely.
With the right advice, you can choose destinations and experiences where you feel comfortable, respected, and free to enjoy your time togethe. Whether that’s somewhere openly LGBTQ-friendly or somewhere that simply requires a more low-key approach.

Travel as LGBTQ couple.
